Ironbark Gas Collection Infrastructure
The Ironbark No.1 underground coal mine requires a gas drainage system to transport waste coal mine gas away from its operating environment to a safe location.
Carbon Logica owns the gas collection infrastructure used to centralise this waste coal mine gas to the Ironbark power station carbon abatement project.
This includes both fixed and portable blower skids which can be deployed into the gas field to transport gas where it can be treated and utilised to generate low emissions electricity for the mine.
Gas treatment includes compression and chilling of the gas to remove the water content and includes monitoring and pressure control devices.
PROJECT FACTS:
2x GM150 blower skids at the Ironbark gas drainage plant can transport up to 2,000 L/s of coal mine waste gas to the power station
Gas transported back to the power station avoids flaring and generates electricity for the mine
